success stories Meet Josie Bailey. Josie began her storytelling career as a volunteer in her son's school and now performs widely in the Southeastern United States and has had some of her work published. Josie already had a college background in Social Welfare when she came to SMMC, Inc. however she needed to learn more about operating her own business in order to realize her dream. Through SMMC, Inc., Josie increased her knowledge and understanding of the many aspects of micro-enterprise and she has since turned her love of storytelling into a successful business. You can find examples of Ms. Bailey's work by clicking on her link found on our "Links" page. "Thanks to SMMC for providing me a road map that helped me to locate and harness my passion. Even though I had a college degree, had been telling stories part-time for about seven years and had tried two failed businesses I was able to recognize storytelling (my passion) as a means to achieving my dreams when approached from a business prospective. They taught me how to put legs to my vision by creating and implementing a business plan." ~ Josie Bailey |
